Privacy policy

Welcome to my privacy policy page. I take your privacy very seriously! So please take a look…

Image storage

As you know, I am a photographer, and when I capture those memories for you, the images are classed as data. All images taken by me, for you, are kept safely on a password protected computer and hard drive. Often, they will be uploaded to an online gallery. Only you and I know this unique link, unless you share this with friends and family.

I will, at times, upload some images for marketing purposes. It is very important for a photographer to share their art, it’s the only way to show people what I do and let them make a decision on whether I am a perfect fit for the kind of photographer they’re looking for. I will obtain expressed permission before sharing any of your images. If you do not want any images shared, I will respect that wish. All you need to do is let me know.

What information is being collected?

During your initial enquiry I normally collect your name, email address, telephone number, (and if a wedding enquiry, wedding date and venue location). This is so I know who I am chatting with, I can respond to your email or send a text if that is how you would prefer to correspond. If you have inquired about a family session I firstly collect your name, children’s ages, and how many children you have or would like to be in your photos (in case you would like nieces and nephews included) email address and telephone number. After we have decided to proceed with booking a wedding consultation I will collect your address as that is where the session or meeting will take place.

I do not collect any Sensitive Data about you. Sensitive data refers to data that includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and bio-metric data. I do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

Why is it being collected?

Your name is collected so I know what to call you when I arrive to your session/wedding consultation. I will also need your children’s names for sessions again so I know what to call them and their ages so I know what to expect for their session.

Your email is collected to respond to your inquiry. It will also be collected if you wish to have an online gallery for your session, I send you the link to the gallery and the password via email and/or Facebook message (if we chat via Facebook). I will also send you queries and any relevant paperwork via email. I do not send newsletters and I do not send offers via email. Any offers are available on my Facebook page (although not very often i am afraid)!

Your phone number is collected to text you a reminder about our session/meeting a day or two before. I will call you if I am (heaven forbid!) running late. Traffic can sometimes be an unexpected nightmare. Your address is collected for a wedding consultation as this is often where your meeting will take place. I will also personally deliver your products to your home in almost every case, so I know they are safe in your hands.

Who is collecting it?

Just me and no one else. I do not share your personal information.

How is it being collected?

I keep emails and Facebook messages so that I have all relevant information for your session or wedding easily to hand. I will also input the information onto my phone to have as an electronic appointment calendar and also a back up so I do not miss appointments.

If you enquire via telephone your details will be written down in pencil until the booking has been made. Once the booking has been made it will be added into my phone calendar.

I will respond to your enquiry via email with the relevant information that you requested. Your details will go in my diary and I will follow up with you as needed.

Why is it being collected and how is it used?

Your data is being collected simply so I can respond to your enquiry.

Who will it be shared with?

Your privacy is just as important to me as my own privacy is. I do not share your information with any third parties.

Where is your data stored?

Your data as previously mentioned is stored in my electronic diary and my mobile phone. Both my computer and email are password protected. Your emails do come through to my phone as well which is also password protected.

However my paper notebook has vital information stored such as …

– session time and date, your name, children’s names and ages, address (if studio style in your own home) and any props you have asked me to bring.

– wedding consultation date and time, your name, partner’s name and address.

My paper notebook will stay in my own home unless I am at a wedding consultation, in which case it will be on my person until I return it to its safe place at my home.
